Such capabilities make small cells pivotal for 5G cell planning to deliver ultrahigh speeds. Small cells improve leveraging of multiple-input, multiple-output (MIMO), beamforming, and millimeter wave (mmWave). This concept helps simplify transmission station deployment and speeds up implementation. In addition, small cells are relatively easier to deploy on small towers or lamp posts for outdoor applications and wall mounted for indoor applications.
